Yes, it's pretty messy out there - but the bike lanes are generally clear so it's not cool to block one when there is space available to park your truck curbside.

Coming up from CMU, I spotted this UPS truck making a delivery to a house on Forbes Avenue and rode up to a CMU police officer to mention the truck being illegally parked. "That's a 911 issue. Call 911 to report it," he told me.

By the time I got moving eastbound again, the UPS truck had started up again, and I thought I'd missed the chance. But no! He had another delivery to make, and another stretch of the bike lane to block, and drove just a block farther up before finally absenting the bike lane.

I sure hope that emergeny hair colour and nail polish refill is worth puttin my life in danger, by having the UPS truck hog the bike lane and forcing me into the traffic lane!

I didn't even notice the driver when I took the picture otherwise I would have mentioned it is illegal in Illinois to block a bike lane.

I didn't realize that the lane was marked UPS delivery parking.

Again, in spite of several close by alleys, and nearby unloading zones (at the end of the street near the intersection) the delivery fellow finds it easier to take up the entire bike lane for deliveries.

What was the purpose of that hand truck for again?

UPS has supposedly talked to this driver, but looks like he didn't get the message. This truck was left unattended in the bike lane while legal parking was open for more than 25 minutes.

Yesterday evening, a group ride of NYC cyclists was forced in traffic because UPS employees decided to use the Greenwich street bike lane as a parking area for vehicles at the UPS facility on Greenwich Street in Manhattan.

This was during one of the busiest times of the day for cyclists commuting home from work, and there really is no excuse since he had an open spot but didn't take the time to fully pull into it.

This is a pretty amazing move from UPS, considering their history as the worst offender in NYC bike lanes.

They are setting an example for making the effort to respond to these complaints with requests for more information so they can train their drivers to park outside bike lanes whenever they get the chance.

Noch weiter in der Kreuzung als der zuvor bemängelte Kleintransporter Grazer Provenienz parkt dieses fäkalbraune Fahrzeug mit der Aufschrift "UPS".
